Links and Referrals
The links in CrethiPlethi.com are selected as ones to provide you with a broader perspective on Middle East Affairs, but nevertheless we cannot guarantee that the content and material on these websites always meet our requirements. Also linking to these websites doesn’t mean that we always or fully endorse all the material that is published on these sites. This also complies to links made by others in CrethiPlethi.com. Visitors should consult the other sites’ legal terms as CrethiPlethi.com has no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these other sites. CrethiPlethi.com will remove any links or content on this website which does not meet our requirements without further notice. Furthermore, we are not liable for any posts, comments or messages by users of this website.

However, if you have chosen to send us an email via the contact form on this site, your name, email address and message will be emailed to us. This information will be kept private. We will store this information within our own email system so that we are able to contact you in reply to your message, or to send you our newsletter. To enhance your experience with CrethiPlethi.com, our web pages may use cookie technology to understand site usage and are used to ensure proper running of this website. Cookies are only used to benefit the users of this website by helping us to improve your experience when browsing our site and to improve the content and offerings on our site. These cookies will not store personal identifiable information other than information about the use of this website by the users. None of the information we gather via cookies identifies you as an individual. It’s all entirely anonymous.
A cookie is a simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device by a website’s server and only that server will be able to retrieve or read the contents of that cookie. Each cookie is unique to your web browser. It will contain some anonymous information such as a unique identifier and the site name and some digits and numbers. It allows a website to remember things like your preferences or what’s in your shopping basket, either for the duration of your visit (using a ‘session cookie’) or for repeat visits (using a ‘persistent cookie’). Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting (‘first party cookies’) or they may be set by other websites who run content on the page you are viewing (‘third party cookies’). Other cookies we use are detailed below:
|Article Comments||Persistent||1 year||If you leave a comment on an article, then a cookie may be stored to ‘remember’ your email address for the next time a comment is submitted on the same page or blog post (should you choose the “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” option).|
|Google AdSense||Persistent||1-6 years||Google Adsense may use the DoubleClick cookie on our site to serve more relevant ads across the web and limit the number of times a given ad is shown to you. When you visit our website, view an ad, or click an ad supported by Google’s advertising services, it may set a cookie on your browser. This information helps Google deliver ads that are relevant to your interests, control the number of times you see a given ad, and measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns. This data is completely anonymous, it does not identify you as an individual in any way.|
|Social Media||Persistent||1-2 years||Cookies set by other websites who run content on our website are known as third party cookies. For example Facebook sets cookies via our website if a visitor ‘likes’ one of our articles on our site, Twitter sets cookies if a visitor tweets one of our articles and YouTube sets cookies via our website when a visitor views an embedded video in one of our articles. Other social media buttons or plugins (such as Google+) also set cookies via our website when clicked by a visitor.|
|Adobe Flash||Persistent||1 year||Adobe Flash Player allows you to view and interact with SWF and FLV files (files that are read by Flash Player) created and published across the Internet using your browser or mobile device. It allows authors of SWF and FLV files and the websites hosting those files to use local shared objects (LSOs). LSOs can be used in a similar manner as cookies, and can be used for a variety of purposes such as keeping track of information you provided and remembering your preferences. If you have Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer, Flash Player can be set to reject or delete LSOs in the System Preferences on Mac OS X, in the Flash Player Control Panel on Windows®, or with the Flash Player management tools available on the Adobe website so that you can make your own choices about LSOs and other privacy issues.|
We do not share your personal information or email address with third parties. Only if required by law or law enforcement authorities, we may provide personal information of users to these authorities, in order to prevent or investigate activities like threats, illegal activity or criminal intent.
CrethiPlethi.com uses best endeavour to safeguard the confidentiality of your personally identifiable information but we do not use encryption (such as SSL) or firewalls to further protect the information as it travels across the Internet. We do not believe that the personal information we collect warrants this level of security. It is important to be aware that there is no such thing as “perfect internet security”.
Once submitted, you cannot change or remove any comments you have shared on our website pages and/or posts. However, if you would like to have this information removed please contact us and we will do this for you. You should know that because of technical constraints, all information is never completely removed from our databases. Therefore, you should not expect that all of your personally identifiable information will be completely removed from our databases in response to your requests that it be removed. We will aim to remove all publicly-facing information. Please use the contact form on this site to contact us.

These are our COMMENT RULES!
You are welcome to leave comments and join the discussion at our Blog section.
We welcome honest, intelligent, thoughtful and senseful comments which add to the discussion. You can criticize ideas, and you can criticize people who hold those ideas, but you cannot insult people on the basis of race, religion, national origin, or ethnicity. Avoid tu quoque (logical fallacy) and ad hominem (personal) attacks; don’t insult, curse, threaten or discriminate in any way or post libelous, defamatory, abusive or hateful comments.
We prefer comments in English, but we also accept comments in Dutch, Hebrew, Arabic, Turkish and Persian. Discussion and debate are great, that’s why we don’t allow single-sentence comments without any intelligent and thoughtful arguments.
Keep your comments and discussions on topic, which means relevant to each topic and avoid multiple topic posts. Don’t include links to websites and videos not associated with the topic. Don’t solicit anyone to buy or sell products or services, or to make donations of any kind.
CrethiPlethi reserves the right to monitor posted content, edit reader comments or remove any post at its sole discretion without your knowledge or consent. We also reserves the right to block users, who violates our comment rules, from posting reader comments. If you can’t live with these rules, please don’t comment. It’s to our judgement whether a comment complies with the comment rules.
