Kamal el-Helbawy: Egypt should have “a good government, like the Iranian government, and a good president like Mr. Ahmadinejad, who is very brave,” which also means that women should wear head cover in public and Egypt should develop a nuclear program and a nuclear bomb.

Muslim Brotherhood: “Egypt should have an Iranian-Style Government and a President like Ahmadinejad”

Since the start of the Egyptian Januari 25 revolution leaders of Egypt’s primary opposition party, the Muslim Brotherhood, are being questioned about how they would manage the Egyptian state should they accede to power in a transitional government or after the next elections. Of primary concern is the Muslim Brothers’s stance on women’s rights, the legal system (implementation of Islamic law), minority rights (especially Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority), and its position to international treaties (especially the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty). It’s clear that the Muslim Brothers are often using taqiyya (Islamic principle of lying) in their various statements and interviews. When speaking to Western media they pose themselves as moderate Islamists and when speaking to the Arab World they are less concerned how people are interpreting their political views.

Today, we published this article about the 2007 draft party Platform of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood which reveals the sort of party the Muslim Brothers would found if they were allowed to do so. And Tarek Heggy explains here what the political reality of a Muslim Brotherhood government in Egypt would look like.

Recently, Muhammad Ghanem, Senior Muslim Brotherhood Representative in London said to Iran’s Arabic-language news station, Al-Alam, that the Egyptian people “should be prepared for war against Israel …. [and] passage through the Suez Canal should be halted … [and] flow of gas to Israel should be cut off”. [Al-Alam TV (Iran) — January 30, 2011]

Later, Egypt’s domestic Muslim Brotherhood deputy leader Rashad al-Bayoumi said to Japan’s NHK TV that a new provisional government should “dissolve the peace treaty with Israel.”

Kamal el-Helbawy, a senior member of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, recently said in an interview with BBC Persian that the Muslim Brotherhood would like to establish an Iranian-style government in Egypt. And as we all know how Iran’s anti-West government oppressed the pro-democracy Green Movement demonstrations after the 2009 elections fraud, it’s very clear that the Muslim Brotherhood is a highly extremist and Islamist organization and should be seen as such.

Read the following report about Kamal el-Halbavi’s interview (also spelled as Kamal el-Helbawy) below:

A senior member of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood has expressed gratitude to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for his support of the Egyptian revolution.

Kamal al-Halbavi made the remark in an interview with the state-funded BBC Persian on Sunday night.

Halbavi further expressed hope that Egypt would have “a good government, like the Iranian government, and a good president like Mr. Ahmadinejad, who is very brave.”

When asked about the Muslim Brotherhood’s opinion of Ayatollah Khamenei’s statements on Egypt’s developments, Halbavi said, “Many thanks for Imam Khamenei and all who support the revolution in Egypt.”

Ayatollah Khamenei said in Tehran’s Friday prayers last week that the recent developments in North Africa are the result of “Islamic awakening, which followed the great Islamic Revolution of the Iranian nation.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution made reference to Egyptians’ fight for “dignity and honor” and noted that Mubarak’s biggest crime was turning Egypt into an instrument in the hands of the United States.

The Muslim Brotherhood member added that he wants his country to develop in all spheres “like Iran, achieving more technological and scientific advances and becoming a regional power.”

Quotes and Sayings

About the Region, Islam and cultural totalitarianism...

People less informed and less responsible than our leaders and yours, ignoring the need for co-operation of the Arabs and Zionists have been trying to exploit the local difficulties that must necessarily arise in Palestine in the early stages of our movements…I look forward, and my people with me look forward, to a future in which we will help you and you will help us, so that the countries in which we are mutually interested may once again take their places in the community of civilised peoples of the world.
