WikiLeaks: Jihadist Working at US Embassy in the Hague

Document: A Dutch-Croatian woman, working as a telephonist at the American Embassy in The Hague, attended anti-American jihadist websites and had jihadist friends, according to a leaked US diplomatic cable.

The young woman with the Dutch and Croatian nationalities was appointed in late August 2009 to work as a receptionist at the embassy.

A colleague of the woman noticed that she visited anti-American websites at work.

Facebook

Research into her Internet activities revealed that she regularly posted messages on a website with conspiracy theories about the September 11 attacks.

She also had jihadi friends on facebook and responded to a jihadist YouTube video [3] with: “just beautiful”.

Dismissal

On February 23, 2010, almost 6 months after her appointment, she was summoned by the Regional Security Officer and the Legal Attaché, who confronted her with her internet behavior and fired her.

All the information and personal data were transmitted to Washington, via the ‘Visa Viper Watchlist procedure’. Since then, she is monitored by the FBI and is probably no longer welcome to travel to the US.
